The Chicago Institute for Psyschoanalysis is located on the 13th and 14th floors of 122 South Michigan Avenue, at the corner of Michigan and Adams.  Originally designed to house People's Gas Company in 1911, this historical building was one of Chicago's earliest skyscrapers.

The Institute is just one block from the CTA Brown Line (Adams Station), two blocks from the CTA Red Line (Madison-Monroe Station), and one block from the Metra (Jackson Station).  It is also located only steps away from the 6, 151, 143, and a variety of other CTA buses.  Please contact us if you would like specific directions to the building, whether by car, bicycle, or public transportation.

There are a number of building entrances located on Michigan Ave. and Adams St.  Once you come inside, a receptionist can direct you to the elevators that go up the 13th and 14th floors.

The Institute's reception area is located on the thirteenth floor.  In case you decide to park for your session, please feel free to ask the receptionist for a 2 hour parking validation at 17 E Adams.

Staff psychotherapists might prefer to use their own private offices or to meet you in the clinic offices.  Your therapist will work with you to find a convenient time and space in which to meet.

All staff psychotherapists participate in the ongoing lectures, consultations, and seminars available through the Institute for Psychoanalysis.  Our immersion in this vibrant learning community will help to ensure that you receive the best care available for your specific concerns.
