Programs of Study

The Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute is dedicated to advancing the knowledge of human beings – their feelings, thoughts and behaviors – and to improving people’s lives. Since its founding in 1932, the Institute has contributed to the field of psychoanalysis through education and scholarship. Today, the Institute offers a contemporary model of psychoanalytic thought relevant to individual and community life that is represented in all its education programs. Graduates belong to the Institute’s life-long learning community where they join with colleagues who share an interest in psychoanalysis and its values.
