James William Anderson PhD is a clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst in private practice.
Affiliations:
Dr. Anderson is Past President of the Chicago Psychoanalytic Society and Editor of the Annual of Psychoanalysis. In his writing he is a specialist in the study of the individual life and has published psychobiographical essays on Presidents Abraham Lincoln and Woodrow Wilson, psychoanalyst D. W. Winnicott, novelist Edith Wharton, architect Frank Lloyd Wright and the brothers William and Henry James.
Dr. Anderson’s special areas of interest include psychobiography and the history of psychoanalysis. He is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Northwestern University and has taught personality psychology and the psychology of film.
