I work with individuals working through experiences of trauma, with individuals dealing with anxiety, with struggles around parenting, and with career difficulties.  I believe in the power of listening to those experiences and struggles, and to ensuring that individuals are empowered to find the solutions that will work best for them.  For me, psychotherapy is at best a collaborative enterprise, as I am not an expert on anyone.  Psychotherapy is the process of each person getting to know themselves and to make decisions on the basis of that self-knowledge.  I work with people of all ages and backgrounds and have a special interest in working with people from different countries and cultures, as I myself grew up in the Middle East.  I am the daughter of am American Foreign Service officer.  Being a psychotherapist is a second career for me, as I worked as an international economist in Washington, D.C. in the past.
