In Loving Memory of Edward Kaufman

Twilights Embrace

In the quiet of the twilight
Where dreams and stars align
Whispers dance on moonlit beams
In a space with one less star

The wind hums a gentle tune
Through the trees so tall and wise
Crickets sing their day ending song
Underneath the days goodbye

Eyes close to the end of the day
Of the earth in calm repose
Carried by a tender breeze
Where darkness will now impose

May we be in peace tonight
As the world softly spins
For in the whispers of twilight
A new day gently begins

You were a beacon of hope amid
the chaos, a lighthouse during a storm.
You were a guide to children and families when they needed you the most

Like the lion from the Wizard of Oz
you helped us find our roar, while helping
us transform our tin hearts and
scarecrow brains – our very own
wizard, I suppose …

In the twilight’s gentle embrace
We part with smiles not tears
For every end brings dawn’s new
face and chases away our tears

Goodbye is but a whispered word
A space between the clouds
For in the silence, hope is heard
A song that ever shines. We move
ahead not with sadness but
hope, as you helped us find our
own paths.

For in the silence, hope is heard
A song that ever sings. We shine
so bright this end of day, as we
are not alone – for we have each other
tonight – amid twilights gentle embrace

Thank you Ed
