I practice using a psychodynamic approach because I believe everyone deserves the opportunity for self-discovery, empowerment, and transformation. This work begins when a person follows the quiet inner voice that longs for something different from the patterns they find themselves in. I am honored to walk alongside people as they courageously pursue this uncertain path.
Working in education for over 10 years introduced me to the great diversity of human experiences, including those with different cognitive and physical abilities, minority ethnic and cultural groups, immigration status, religious and spiritual affiliations, gender and sexual expressions, and socioeconomic status. It also provided a vital understanding of how formative caregiver relationships shape the patterns in our current relationships.
In our work together, clients can look forward to a safe and empathic therapeutic space to explore the inner landscape of their minds and process past and present experiences. Therapy will also help clients renew their connection to the present moment, which they can carry into their personal lives and relationships outside the therapeutic space. As this connection grows and we attend to our deepest needs, we discover fresh perspectives that allow insight to flourish. Over time, we come to believe that no part of us is beyond redemption, and we can move freely through our world with compassion and love for the person we already are.
