Ruth Yanagi MD is a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst and serves as a Training and Supervising Analyst and Chair of the Institute’s Training Analyst Committee.

Dr. Yanagi has served as a member of the Medical Services Department at the Community Counseling Centers of Chicago.
Education:
Originally trained as a neonatologist, she received her initial medical training in her native Brazil at the Faculty Of Medical Sciences of Santa Casa De Sao Paulo before coming to the United States. Dr. Yanagi completed a Residency in Pediatrics and a Fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology before training in Psychiatry at the McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University. She completed her psychoanalytic training at the Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute.
