Affiliations:
Jeffrey Stern PhD has served as President of the Chicago Psychoanalytic Society, Associate Editor of the Annual of Psychoanalysis and Visiting Professor of Psychoanalysis at Wuhan University in China. He writes on psychoanalysis, literature and film. In 2017, he gave a talk entitled, ”Shakespearean Royal Road to Psychoanalysis,” as part of the Institute’s Psychoanalysis Today lecture series.
Education:
Dr. Stern received his PhD at the University of Chicago in English Literature, where his dissertation on Shakespeare’s late romances won the Humanities Prize. He has been a lecturer in Psychiatry at the University of Chicago where he won the teaching award and has also lectured at the University of Chicago in the Committee on General Studies in the Humanities.
