Phil Lebovitz
MD

Phil Lebovitz MD is a Training and Supervising Analyst who offers psychoanalysis to young adults and adults in his clinical practice; he is also interested in integration of psychoanalysis, psychotherapy and psychopharmacology. He has a focus on the creative artist and has worked clinically with many artists of different disciplines. The impact of loss of different kinds including sibling loss, parent loss and loss of an infant by parents has had his involvement clinically. A long term follow up project on the assessment of change is a major area of his work. He is the founder of the Institute’s Frontline Responders program which offers pro bono therapy to workers serving on the frontline of COVID-19 in Illinois.

Dr. Lebovitz served as Lieutenant Commander, US Navy, Great Lakes Naval Base, Illinois. He has been an Adjunct Instructor at Northwestern University Medical School, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. He is Treasurer and Board of Trustees member of the American Board of Psychoanalysis.
Education:
He graduated from Columbia College of Columbia University, Baylor College of Medicine, completed his psychiatry residency at the University of Minnesota and graduated as a psychoanalyst from the Chicago Psychoanlytic Institute.
