Dennis has a long instrest in psychoanalysis and gay men, gender and sexuality, the history of psychoanalytic ideas and psychoanaytic understanding of war trauma. He has a deep interest in distance education and the develpment of psychoanalysis in China and the Middle East. Dennis is co-chair of the APSA Distance Education Study Group and the Distance Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy Discussion Group. As a past member of the APSA Board of Directors he has long advocated for international distance candidates and graduates.
