New Dean – Dr. Wendy Selene LCSW, PhD

Welcome Wendy Selene LCSW, PhD as the Institute’s new Dean. Wendy starts her 2-year term in July. She has served as the Institute’s Director of Conferences and Continuing education and has moderated a number of conferences, namely “Psychological Warfare And Attacks On Reality: The Role of the Therapist In the Era of Trump” and “Gender 2020: Psychoanalysis Adjusts its Vision.”

Dr. Selene has a private practice in Evanston, IL where she offers psychoanalysis and psychotherapy. Special interests include early and young adult parent loss, trauma and blocked mourning.

She is a member of the Committee for Social Responsibility and Social Justice for the American Association for Psychoanalysis in Clinical Social Work and does death penalty mitigation for the Cook County Public Defenders’ Office in Chicago.

Dr. Selene received her doctorate from the Institute for Clinical Social Work.
