Fall 2020 Courses to be Online

Since March 16th, the Institute has been operating on a fully-remote basis.  Faculty has been teaching classes and meeting via ZOOM, Treatment Center therapists have been providing mental health services via telephone and video conferencing and Institute Board and staff have been maintaining business operations from their homes.  The Institute’s robust technology infrastructure has effectively allowed ongoing day to day management of all facets of the organization.

The end of the Institute’s academic year coincides directly with Chicago’s Reopen Plan where rules for social distancing, restrictions on large group gatherings and other safety measures will determine how schools and other office-based businesses will resume in-person operations.  The theme is caution, follow the science and as, Governor Pritzker said, “keeping each other safe is the most important thing we can do.”

In light of this guidance, Institute leadership have decided that Fall, 2020 classes, faculty meetings and continuing education programs will continue to be conducted remotely.  This decision will be evaluated as circumstances unfold with plans to return to in person teaching as soon as practical.  Treatment Center services and business operations are being evaluated separately.  Watch for more news on this front in the coming weeks.
